Project Description and Objectives:
       
The project aims at the rehabilitation and upgrading of Banjul International Airport and supply it with modern air navigation and safety equipment necessary for air traffic in order to meet the increasing growth of air transportation of passengers and goods.
The project consists of the following components:
    a. Civil works and equipment which include:
        1. Rehabilitation of the existing runway.
        2. Rehabilitation of the existing apron and the expansion of its area.
        3. Construction of two new taxiways.
        4. Rehabilitation of the existing roads network within the airport.
        5. Rehabilitation of the existing passenger terminal.
        6. Construction of sewerage system and treatment plant.
        7. Construction of fire and rescue station.
        8. Rehabilitation of the existing electrical network and additional lighting for the runway, taxiway and apron.
        9. Upgrade of the air navigation equipment in the airport tower.
    b. Consultancy services and supervision on the civil works of the project.
