Project Description and Objectives:
     The project aims at constructing an earth fill dam on Bouchta valley in Chefchaouen province which is one of Laou valley streams; an important valley in northern Morocco. The storage capacity of the dame is 12 million m3 with a height of 70 meters and a length of 420 meters. It is expected that the dam shall regulate the flow of 4.4 million m3 of water per year and will contribute to achieving the following objectives:
    a. Supplying potable water to Chefchaouen city which inhabited by 40,000 people.
    b. Improving the income level of the citizens working in agricultural activities by promoting their ability to produce irrigated high-yield crops.
    c. Providing water reserve in the province that will be highly beneficial in cases of fires that broke out in the neighboring forests. The project includes the following components:
        1. Expropriation.
        2. Preparatory works.
        3. Construction works.
        4. Hydro-mechanical preparations.
        5. Studies and supervision.
