Project Description and Objectives:
The project aims at improving the health sector and providing health service
requirements for Sogd Region with regard to child and mother care through the
rehabilitation and equipping of maternity hospital in the city of Khujand within
the second stage of the Tajik Ministry of Health program to upgrade and
modernize the child and mother health care facilities in the country. The
project includes the following components:
a. Civil works including the construction of new buildings for the
outpatient clinics, the construction of services buildings and the general site
works such as landscaping, electricity, sewerage and air-conditioning
connections.
b. Supply of medical equipment to all divisions of the hospital.
c. Consultancy services including the preparation of project designs,
tender documents for civil works, preparation of the technical specifications of
the required medical equipment and its related tender documents.
d. Training including training of the staff on the use of the modern
medical equipment and developing national cadres
