Project Description and Objectives:
      
The project aims at achieving comprehensive farming development, improving the socio-economic conditions in the rural communities at Sidi Bou Zid and enhancing the integration between national and regional development programs. The project includes the following components:
    a. Preservation of soil and water by preparing, maintaining and protecting agricultural and grazing lands and providing water resources.
    b. Preparation and construction of a number of areas irrigated by existing wells on a total area of 630 hectares as well as provision of electricity and equipment with water-saving machineries.
    c. Supply of valley,s water by preparing an irrigated area of 2,400 hectares.
    d. Support of farming development by enhancing social development and creating job opportunities for women and youth through the establishment of small agricultural projects and training of targeted beneficiaries.
    e. Construction of infrastructure with a focus on supply of potable water to the Black Forests region and the expansion of potable water network for "Emama and Bou Sbie" wells in addition to the construction of urban roads with a total length of 71 km.
    f. Institutional support, including the provision of equipment and training.
