 Project Description and Objectives :

     The project aims to facilitate the movement of goods and vehicles between the southern and western areas in Burkina Faso and to facilitate access to the sea ports in Ghana. This will contribute to the development of the villages and cities in the region, and further foster social and economic growth and development. The project boosts Burkina Faso's exchange of trade with the neighboring countries, particularly Ghana and Mali. The 7 meter width paved road to be built is 125 kilometers length, with one meter shoulder on both sides of the road .

 Project Description and Objectives :

     The project's objective is to increase the agricultural production through reclamation of 1500 hectares of irrigated land at initial stage, with potential increase of up to 23000 hectares at the final stage. It also aims to generate about 2.6 megawatts of electricity by building a dam on the Mahon River. The project consists of the following main parts :
1 - Building and constructing dam of 24.9 meters high.

2 - Procurement and installation of a power station, to generate 2.6 megawatts in total.
3 - Consultancy and supervising services relating to the dam construction and the power station installation.

4 - Irrigation network and land reclamation.  
5 - Inhabitants' resettlement.

6 - Institutional support to proper project execution and training and offering agricultural guidance.
