Project Description and Objectives : |

The
Ouakam road project is part of a program to streamline traffic between
the center of the capital and its suburbs. The project is considered a
backbone road for traffic movement in the capital center. It is a
central road from which traffic movement diverts to the western corniche
road and the road that exit the traffic to the north. The project
contributes to the capital's urban development; shortens the time
consuming; lowers vehicles operational costs; reduces pollution and
ensures inhabitants traffic safety. The road is 6.44 kilometers length,
of which 5.34 kilometers is two lanes on each direction, and the
remaining 1.10 kilometers is single lane road. It will be supported by
necessary connections to link it with other roads, that are seven
circle-shaped intersections and three 2-level car intersections,
together with pedestrian corridors, sidewalks and water drainage
channels . |
