Damascus, January 06, 2026, SPA -- Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Chief Executive Sultan Al-Marshad met today with Syrian Minister of Finance Mohammed Yusr Barniyeh, Minister of Health Dr. Musab Al-Ali, and Minister of Education Dr. Mohammed Abdulrahman Turko, in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to Syria Dr. Faisal Al-Mujfal.
 During the bilateral meetings, the two sides discussed opportunities for development cooperation to support various sectors in the Syrian Arab Republic within the framework of the fund's development activities spanning more than 50 years worldwide.
 The visit underscores the importance of development cooperation between the two countries in contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and supporting development initiatives in Syria.
 Since its establishment in 1974, the SFD has provided development contributions to more than 100 developing countries worldwide, supporting and financing over 800 development projects and programs across various sectors, with a total value exceeding $22 billion, contributing to sustainable development impact and enhancing opportunities for economic and social growth in beneficiary countries.
