SFD seeks to provide the financing necessary for the development projects in the developing countries. Its primary focus is placed on the sectors of infrastructure and productivity. Since the SFD began its loan activities in the mid-seventies to the end of (2020), the number of development projects and programs financed in the Transportation and Communication sector reached 227. The Social Infrastructure came in the second place with 225 development projects and programs. The Agriculture sector came in next place with 97 projects and programs, followed by the Energy sector with 76 projects and programs. In the same way, the SFD contributed to the financing of 54 projects and programs in other sectors. The Fund financed 16 projects and programs in the Industry and Mining sector, as well as executing two financing agreements with international organizations.
