CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad met with the Mauritanian Minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, Ousmane Mamoudou Kan, together with the Mauritanian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Sidi Ali Ould Sidi Ali, the Mauritanian National Security Director, Mohamed Al-Mukhtar and Finance and Economic Cooperation Director, Mohammed Salem Al-Nani.

During the meeting progress on development projects currently financed by the SFD in Mauritania were discussed. The Mauritanian Minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, Ousmane Mamoudou Kan extended his thanks to the Kingdom’s government for its ongoing contribution and support. Kan also praised the mutually friendly relations between the two countries.

The Kingdom's government, represented by SFD, has provided 10 grants to development projects in Mauritania including infrastructure, water, education, and health. The SFD has also provided a further 18 development loans to finance 16 further projects in the country.
