CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad received the Republic of Burundi Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, Albert Shinjiro at the SFD offices in Riyadh. They discussed the current development projects financed by SFD in Burundi aimed at improving quality of life and achieving sustainable development goals.

Mr Shinjiro extended his thanks to the Kingdom’s government for its ongoing contribution and support, through SFD, to Burundi.

Saudi Arabia, represented by SFD, has provided 13 soft loans to development projects in Burundi including infrastructure, transport and education. Through the SFD Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting ongoing economic and social development in the country.

The SFD is one of the largest contributors to sustainable development aid. It plays a key role in providing financial and technical assistance to development projects across the world. Since it was established in 1975 it has been committed to building stability, prosperity and providing socio-economic support to developing nations, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.
