Riyadh, 22 November 2021

CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad received here today a delegation from the European Union (EU) headed by EU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa Annette Weber, accompanied by a number of EU officials.
During the meeting, they discussed the existing development projects and programs funded by the SFD in the countries of the Horn of Africa, as well as issues of common interest to unify the development efforts.
Al-Marshad said that the SFD, in partnership with the international community, is working to contribute to achieving the goals of the sustainable development plan.

Since its inception, SFD provided 50 development loans to Horn of Africa countries to finance projects in the water, education, health, transport, energy and agriculture sectors.

SFD is a leader in sustainable development assistance. Since its establishment in 1975, SFD has supported more than 694 projects in 84 countries around the world. SFD seeks to achieve the stability and prosperity in the developing countries. In line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, SFD’s objectives are focused around achieving prosperity and providing social and economic support for less privileged communities.
