Tokyo, October 21. 2022

 In the Japanese capital of Tokyo, the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Mr. Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, and the President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Dr. Akihiko Tanaka, met to follow up on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the agency, discuss the means of enhancing development efforts, and the latest developments in the cooperation between the two sides.

 The meeting included a discussion of the "Cooperation for Prosperity" initiative, which aims to bring SFD and JICA together to exchange knowledge and develop the latest means and tools to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in developing countries.

 Commenting on the visit, SFD CEO, Mr. Al-Marshad, shared that “the Cooperation for Prosperity” initiative with JICA will start next month with the employee exchange program, which is an excellent opportunity for the two sides to exchange knowledge and best practices in the area of sustainable development.”

 Over the course of the visit, the SFD delegation was given a tour of JICA’s Tokyo headquarters and training center, and several of the agency’s senior officials shared JICA’s best practices and operation models with the delegation.
