Riyadh, November 27.2022

CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Mr. Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, received the Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghan Affairs, Mr. Ismatilla Ergashev, and his accompanying delegation at the SFD headquarters. The visit focused on reviewing the development projects and programs funded by SFD in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Special Envoy was welcomed by Mr. Al-Marshad, and the two sides reviewed development topics of common interest and discussed possible opportunities for development projects in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has supported the government of Uzbekistan with several development loans. SFD has provided 11 development loans to contribute to financing the implementation of 11 projects across several sectors, including health, education, roads, irrigation, provision of drinking water, and housing, with a total amount of $276 million. Five projects have been completed and are currently benefiting Uzbekistan's people, and six projects are currently underway.
