Earlier today, the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Mr. Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, welcomed Tuvalu's Prime Minister, Hon. Kausea Natano, and his delegation, to SFD headquarters.

During the meeting, both sides discussed Tuvalu's development priorities, avenues of potential cooperation, and opportunities to develop projects and programs in Tuvalu. Additionally, the importance of international development cooperation and the role international development organizations – such as SFD –play in supporting sustainable development were emphsized during the meeting.

The visit also included a film screening on SFD's development activities worldwide and a tour of the SFD Exhibition. The exhibition showcased some of the Fund’s prominent development projects in developing nations across various sectors, including infrastructure, health, education, and agriculture, illustrating the impact of SFD-financed projects in improving the standard of living in recipient countries.

Prime Minister Natano also expressed his gratitude to the Saudi government for its ongoing efforts in expanding and supporting development projects in developing countries for over four decades through SFD. 

Since its establishment in 1975, the Saudi Fund for Developmenbt have focused on supporting developing nations worldwide through providing soft loans and grants to finance development projects and programs. SFD remains committed to working with its partners to support the achievement of the SDGs and to promote economic and social development in developing countries.
