Solomon Islands – April 8, 2025

The Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands, Hon. Jeremiah Manele, received the Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Mr. Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, along with his accompanying delegation, in the presence of senior officials from both sides.

During the meeting, both parties reviewed the Saudi Fund for Development’s contributions to global development over the past 50 years and explored opportunities to strengthen development cooperation in the Solomon Islands. The visit coincides with the signing of SFD’s first development loan agreement with the Minister of Finance and Treasury of the Solomon Islands, Hon. Manasseh Sogavare, aimed at supporting the country’s renewable energy sector.

This visit marks an important step toward deepening bilateral development ties and reflects SFD’s ongoing commitment to addressing global development challenges. Through its development projects, the Fund promotes international cooperation and solidarity to advance sustainable development across developing countries and small island developing states worldwide.
