His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, received a delegation from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), headed by Dr. Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al-Sakran, Executive Director of the Strategy and Development Sector. The meeting was attended by Mr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Heji, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Sierra Leone.
The audience took place on the sidelines of the Fund’s participation in the Third High-Level African Forum on South-South and Triangular Cooperation for Sustainable Development.
During the meeting, His Excellency was briefed on the Saudi Fund for Development’s activities in the Republic of Sierra Leone, which span more than 40 years, as well as the Fund’s developmental role and its impact in supporting vital sectors across the country. His Excellency granted this special reception as a reflection of the Fund’s active role in supporting development in Sierra Leone.
In a related context, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sakran held meetings with Their Excellencies the Ministers of Planning and Economic Development, Health, and Agriculture to discuss joint development matters between both sides
It is worth noting that since 1985, the Saudi Fund for Development has provided the Republic of Sierra Leone with six development loans to support and finance five development projects and programs, with a total value exceeding 218 Million Saudi Riyals.
