Mr. Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), met with H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, on the sidelines of the Arab Coordination Group Heads Meeting in Vienna. During the meeting, both sides discussed the development projects financed by the Fund in Mauritania.

Also on the sidelines of the OPEC Fund Development Forum, Mr. Al-Marshad held separate meetings with H.E. Mr. Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and H.E. Dr. Aboubakar Nacanabo, Minister of Economy and Finance of Burkina Faso. The discussions focused on strengthening development cooperation and exploring financing opportunities in key sectors in both Azerbaijan and Burkina Faso.

In parallel, Eng. Faisal bin Mohammed Al-Kahtani, Deputy CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, participated in a panel session titled “Digital Acceleration for Growth & Inclusion.” During the session, he highlighted the Fund’s role in addressing development challenges faced by developing countries through sustainable solutions and underscored the importance of joint efforts to achieve future growth and prosperity.

SFD’s participation in the Forum reflects its commitment—alongside other international development funds, institutions, and organizations—to strengthening development frameworks and practices, and addressing related challenges through practical, innovative solutions aligned with international standards and principles. These efforts contribute toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
