Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) concluded its participation in the Third High-Level African Forum on South-South and Triangular Cooperation for Sustainable Development, held from May 7–9, 2025.
As part of its involvement, the SFD presented a virtual interactive pavilion, highlighting its key development projects, programs, and success stories from across the globe since its establishment in 1974. The pavilion showcased the Fund’s long-standing commitment to supporting sustainable development in developing countries.
The Fund was also represented by Dr. Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al-Sakran, Executive Director of Strategy and Development, who participated in a high-level panel discussion titled:
“Economic Resilience for the Second Ten-Year Implementation Plan of Agenda 2063 and SDGs: Role of MDBs and UN Agencies.”
During the session, Dr. Al-Sakran highlighted the SFD’s five decades of developmental efforts through projects aimed at advancing social growth and economic prosperity in partner countries.
The Saudi Fund for Development has a distinguished history of supporting development efforts worldwide. Over the past 50 years, the Fund has financed more than 800 development projects and programs in over 100 developing countries, with a total value exceeding $21 billion USD. These projects span vital sectors and contribute to sustainable development and long-term socio-economic progress.
